Terms & Conditions

We are Friendly Projects LTD (company number 14543974) and we provide, amongst other services, a running club called YFR or yourfriendlyrunners.   All participants, including YFR Group Leaders, TEAM© members, employees and volunteers must agree to these T&Cs in order to join the YFR community and participate in YFR Events.

Registration: You are required to register your personal details and sign the agreement on the YFR site, prior to attending a YFR Event.  By registering, you are expressly agreeing to be bound by these T&Cs.  Failure to do so or contravention of these T&Cs may result in being removed from the event or from the community entirely.

Participation at YFR Events: Participation in YFR Events is conditional upon agreeing to these T&Cs. Participation at YFR Events is at YFR's ultimate discretion and your participation may be restricted.  You agree to cooperate with the reasonable requests and instructions of YFR Group Leaders.

Age: Only those age 18 and over can join the YFR community and participate at YFR Events.

Health and Safety: You agree to take full responsibility for any injury or health condition sustained whilst partaking in YFR Events. You also agree take full responsibility for any injury or health condition sustained whilst partaking in YFR Events arising from a previous medical condition. You agree not to participate in any YFR sport or running event whilst under the influence of alcohol or drugs. You agree to act responsibly and sensibly at all times. If you have any concerns about your health or the health and behaviour of others during any YFR Event, you will inform one of the YFR Group Leaders immediately.  

Physical and mental health: YFR Group Leaders are not medically trained and are therefore not qualified to assess if your physical condition to attend YFR Events. By agreeing to these T&Cs you declare that you are in good health, physically fit and are not aware of any physical or psychological reasons why you cannot take part in any YFR Event.  

Risk: A risk assessment has been undertaken (YFR-D-00001 Rev 0 Health and Safety Risk Assessment) for all running events and the risks are deemed to be sufficiently low for the events to proceed. YFR takes no responsibility for your or any participant's actions during any YFR Event and provides no liability cover for those participating. You take part in YFR Events at your own risk. 

Etiquette & Conduct: YFR is a welcoming space, open to all and all participants should behave accordingly. YFR has a zero-tolerance policy to offensive or inappropriate behaviour at all events including, but is not limited too; intimidation, verbal abuse, physical violence, sexual/physical/verbal harassment and disrespectful behaviour. YFR reserves the right to impose appropriate penalties for a breach in conduct which include but is not limited too; temporary/permanent suspension from YFR Events or the community entirely. All participant(s) should endeavour to inform all other runners if any conditions that arise which cause danger to others such as; cycles, pedestrians, children, obstacles, vehicles, etc.

Reporting: You have a duty to report any inappropriate behaviour that you witness at any YFR Event. Complaints or reports of unacceptable behaviour should be sent via direct message on Instagram @yourfriendlyrunners.

Photography: During YFR Events, photos and videos may be taken, where you may be captured participating at the YFR Event, for use by Friendly Projects LTD and affiliates, sponsors and third-party vendors marketing tools. By attending YFR Events, you agree that these can be used by YFR and its affiliates, sponsors and third-party vendors, without prior notice or compensation, including on Instagram and promotional materials.  You acknowledge that we have the full right to sell and/or profit from the commercial use of such photos and videos.

Commercial Activities at YFR Events:  Any photos, videos or other content that you make of any YFR Event are for personal use only and cannot be published or used for any commercial purpose without our prior written consent.  You cannot carry out commercial, promotional and/or trading activities at, or in association with, a YFR Event without our prior written permission.

Bag Drop and Lost Property: YFR or any premises offering bag drop facilities (cafes, shops, etc.) take no responsibility for loss, theft or damage for any items you leave at YFR Events. You leave your belongings at your own risk and we suggest that no valuable items are left unattended. 

Limitation of liability: YFR does not exclude or limit in any way our liability to you where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or the negligence of our YFR Group Leaders, employees, agents or subcontractors and for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you hereby waive, release and forever discharge YFR, our officers, employees, agents and representatives and all other persons associated with any YFR Event for all liabilities, claims, actions or damages that you may have against YFR arising out of or in any way in connection with your registration and/or participation in any YFR Event including, without limitation, any liability or claims caused by the negligence, action or inaction of any of the above parties, or otherwise.  You agree to indemnify and hold harmless YFR its officers, employees, agents and representatives and all other persons associated with any FYR Event from all liabilities, claims, actions and/or damages arising out of or in any way in connection with your participation in any YFR Event or any breach by you of these T&Cs.  

Personal Information: By accepting these T&Cs, you agree to signing up to the mailing list of Friendly Projects LTD, sponsor or third-party affiliated company. YFR is a data controller of your personal data and we are responsible for upholding your privacy rights, including your right to access your data and to ask for it to be rectified, erased or its use to be restricted, by complying with all relevant data protection legislation. We need to process your personal data you provide us with in order to put on the YFR Events, to manage and administer your membership, to conduct financial audits and deal with financial queries.

Changes to YFR T&Cs: YFR may amend these T&Cs at any time. We will use reasonable endeavours to inform you of material or significant changes to the T&Cs as far in advance as possible with notice of any significant change. 

Governing law and jurisdiction: These T&Cs and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter or formation (including non-agreement disputes or claims) shall be governed by and constructed in accordance with the law of England and Wales.

Enforceability: Each of the clauses of these T&Cs operates separately. If any court or relevant authority decides that any of them are invalid, unenforceable unlawful, the remaining clauses will remain in full force and effect. 

Third party rights:  No person who is not an LSC Account holder or an LSC Member will have any right to enforce these Terms pursuant to the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.

Force majeure: YFR shall not be liable to you if it is prevented from carrying out its obligations under the T&Cs or any YFR Event by reason of force majeure, including, without limitation, exceptional weather conditions, flood, fire, war, industrial action, disruption to mechanical or electrical supplies or other unforeseen events and consequences that are unpreventable and unavoidable. YFR shall notify you as soon as possible, explaining the reason for its inability to perform or need to delay the performance of all or part of its obligations, including altering, post-postponing or changing any YFR Event. 

Definitions: In these T&Cs: (a) yourfriendlyrunners or YFR means Friendly Projects LTD and, where applicable, the running club associated with Friendly Projects LTD (Company Number 14543974) (b) YFR Group Leader means any individual considered a volunteer organiser of YFR Events; (c) YFR event(s) or event means any activity held by or in association  with YFR, including but not limited to weekly runs, social events, and/or races; (d) participant(s) means any individual who attends a YFR Event. 

 

TEAM© Member Terms & Conditions

These are the terms and conditions between you (the TEAM© member) and us (YFR, yourfriendlyrunners or Friendly Projects LTD), which govern your membership to access TEAM©, our membership platform and offering (the "Membership"). These Member T&Cs must read in conjunction with and are additional to the General T&Cs.

By registering as a TEAM© member, you are expressly agreeing to be bound by these T&Cs and the General T&Cs.

Membership fees and payment: 

  1. The membership fee is available on our website and is payable monthly, on or around the first week of every month.
  2. You will be required to pay your membership fee using the direct debit platform available on our website.
  3. If you join partway through a month, your membership fee for that month will not be pro-rated and you will be charged in full for that month.
  4. Where payment method is by direct debit, you hereby authorise us to charge the membership fee monthly in advance. You agree to maintain a direct debit instruction with your bank for the monthly membership fee and you authorise us to continue to attempt to collect payment with respect to all sums owed until such time as your Membership is terminated with the requisite notice.
  5. Any member paying by direct debit who falls behind in their payment will have their Membership suspended until the payment is received and a new direct debit will need to be set. You agree to provide updated payment information upon request and at any time the information you previously provided becomes invalid.
  6. From time to time, we may need to increase the membership fee. We will give you at least 6 weeks’ notice of any upcoming price increase and will make it clear when the price increase will take effect, how much your membership fee will cost after the increase and the deadline for terminating your Membership if you don’t want to continue your Membership subject to the increased membership fee. If you do not terminate the Membership by the date given to you in the notice, then the price of your Membership will be increased in accordance with our notice.
  7. Not participating in any of the TEAM© Membership benefits will not give you any right to a refund of your Membership Fees.  Membership Fees are non-refundable.
  8. The TEAM© Membership benefits may be varied from time to time by YFR.  
  9. Memberships are non-transferable and one membership is required for each member. You are not entitled to share the benefits of the Membership, including but not limited to access codes, discounts, offers and training plans. 



  • Membership cancellation and freezing
    •
      1. Memberships cannot be cancelled, frozen or terminated within the four-month period following the date on which you joined as a member (the "New Member Period").  
      2. Following the New Member Period, Memberships may be cancelled upon written request sent to [insert email], providing you serve two full calendar months' written notice.
      3. Following the New Member Period, Memberships paid by direct debit may request to freeze their Membership once per calendar year for a minimum of two months and a maximum period of five months providing you serve one full calendar month’s written notice to [insert email].
      4. YFR may terminate your TEAM© Membership at any time at its sole discretion, upon immediate notice to you, including but not limited to if you are in breach or contravention of any Member T&Cs or General T&Cs.  In the event that your TEAM© Membership terminated (for any reason) you are no longer eligible to participate in any YFR and/or TEAM© events and you do not qualify for any TEAM© benefits.
